Our History

Centra is headquartered with a state of the art manufacturing facility in Langley and has branch offices in Kelowna, Kamloops, Nanaimo and Victoria BC.

It started with a vision in 1984 to provide excellent products and exceptional service to the home improvement and construction industry in the greater Vancouver area. After dealing with a number of window manufacturers, Centra quickly learned that the key to providing excellence was to be in control the process from beginning to end. Equipment was purchased and Centra began the process of manufacturing a premium line of vinyl windows specifically engineered for the British Columbia market. It was clear from the beginning that Centra would be the market leader.

As time went on Centra Exteriors Inc. emerged to service the construction industry with windows and exterior cladding services and Centra Home Improvements was developed to service the needs of single homeowners in the greater Vancouver area. Centra Exteriors Inc. expanded services to include restoration specialty work.

Centra joined the BC Hydro Power Smart Home Improvement program receiving recognition for outstanding products and sales. Centra was also a top performing contractor and received many awards from the BC Gas Inc. (now Terasen) Homeworks program and became the manufacturer of the Shell Busey HouseSmart window brand. Centra is currently a proud supporter of Energy Star®, Power Smart rating programs, Building Performance Association, Canadian Window & Door Manufacturers Association, IGMAC and other industry associations.

Centra moved into a larger location in 2001 as a result of an increased marketplace demand for high quality window products and service. Centra opened its second branch office in Kelowna in 2002 in order to service the needs of homeowners in Kelowna, Merrit, Penticton, Westbank and Vernon areas. To meet growing marketplace demand, Centra opened branch offices with showrooms in Kamloops 2006, Nanaimo in 2007 and Victoria in 2009. Centra currently services most major population centers in British Columbia.
