The Controller is responsible for managing Centra’s financial functions. The Controller will lead the accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, internal controls, and financial statement preparation functions and staff. As our Controller, you will assist the CFO and lead aspects of external and internal financial reporting. Additionally, the Controller will champion Centra’s FERST values, Core Leadership Principals, and be a Centra Culture Ambassador.

Core Accountabilities:

Lead Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, & Treasury Functions

  • Oversees and reviews processes
  • Reviews work for timeliness, completion, and accuracy
  • Delegates tasks between themselves and staff, taking on high-risk and complex work as necessary
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are enforced to protect the integrity of Centra and its financial interests
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Pursue continuous improvement and development in accounting procedures

Financial Statement Preparation & Financial Reporting

  • Prepares monthly financial statements for all divisions
  • Collaborates with CFO & FP&A Manager in communicating financial results to all levels of the organization
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of the accounting software system (Business Central) and general ledger
  • Leads external financial compliance with government agencies
  • Leads annual external audit preparation and assists audit staff with inquiries
  • Assists FP&A Manager in preparation of budgets & forecasts
  • Assists CFO in communication of financial results

People Management

  • Works with the CFO to determine optimal staffing, skill sets and compensation; ensures the timely and effective hiring, onboarding, training, evaluation and management of staff
  • Evaluates employee training programs, identifies constraints and weaknesses in staff and procedures, and takes the lead in training and coaching initiatives to effect improvements.
  • Manages employee vacation scheduling and assesses the impact of absenteeism
  • Conducts monthly performance conversations with staff
  • Promotes the company culture and strategic goals with staff
