Senior Project Manager

We need a Senior Project Manager who will bring their passion for construction, expertise in building envelopes, and embracement of technology to continuously improve Centra’s project management. A natural relationship builder, they are a key motivator for the team and a brand ambassador for Centra.

Who are we?

We manufacture our own windows (hello, Canadian made!), we install our own products (no third parties here!), and we also specialize in full exterior restorations for large multi-family projects. We’ve had a lot of practice at getting it right as we have been in business for over 37 years.

Position Purpose and Summary:

The Senior Project Manager is a leader who oversees project management for our CCL division. They ensure all projects taken on by the project management team meet or exceed their expectations. This person will supervise and be involved in all projects by supporting and mentoring the team, developing strategies, and creative problem-solving. In addition, this role requires being the lead project manager for some of CCL’s most important jobs. With an everything and anything attitude, this person will work as long as it takes to get the job done.

Highlights of Core Accountabilities:

  • Oversight of the Project Management team which includes mentorship, performance dialogue, compensation review, hiring and creation of personal development programs.
  • Assume responsibility for Contract Risk Management.
  • Create and maintain high standards in Pre-Construction Planning to ensure all projects achieve the best possible results.
  • Oversee all our building projects to ensure they remain on schedule and budget.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance that all jobs have all required meetings such as precon, biweekly, and close-out.
  • Review all necessary changes over the course of the projects i.e. change orders and change directives ensuring that we are covering all of our hard and soft costs as well as maximizing profit.
  • Project manage high-risk jobs and client conflict resolution management.
  • Work with Operation Manager and safety manager to ensure site and employees are all safety compliant with rules and regulations.
  • Business Development with consultants, property managers and strata representatives that will create long-term value for Centra from customers, markets, and relationships. 
  • Attend and be involved in industry events to promote Centra as an expert in the construction field.
  • Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations.
  • Create and document new processes. Maintain a database of all process guides.

Education (Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in one or more of the following fields)

  • Building Sciences
  • Construction Management
  • Construction Technology
  • Architectural Technologist

Experience & Knowledge

  • 5+ years Building Envelope expertise
  • 3+ years People Management experience
  • Carpentry and Wood Frame Construction
  • CCDC Construction Contracts
  • PMP Designation is an asset
  • Microsoft Project (proficient)

Where will you work?

  • This role is located in-office at our headquarters in Langley BC.
  • Periodic travel within Centra’s service area including Alberta will be required.
