Installation Manager

What’s the job?

The Installation Manager will lead the branch in a manner that stimulates the group to high performance standards such as quality standards, output and efficiency targets. The Installation Manager catalyzes commitment to and vigorous pursuit of Centra’s vision to be top window company in the Pacific Northwest.

The Installation Manager will help us achieve this through superior employee experience and customer experience by reducing loss and non-conformance, and on-going commitment to staff training programs that improve employee productivity, skill development and branch profitability. Additionally, the Installation Manager will champion Centra’s safety program, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, & quality output.

Core Accountabilities include:

Workforce Planning & Scheduling

  • Reviews, approves, and communicates weekly installation schedule and identifies actions to resolve anticipated scheduling or installation issues
  • Determines necessary manpower, skill levels and action plans to achieve installation volume and customer/quality assurance requirements
  • Ensures work scheduled provides adequate time to strictly manage work-in-progress and warranty
  • Oversees re-measure from the initial review prior to re-measure to post review to ensure manpower allocation is correct and any add-ons, abatement charges or pending issues are reviewed, communicated to customer and closed in a timely manner
  • Ensures daily meetings are held each day with all lead hands

People Management

  • Works with the Director of SF Installs to determine optimal staffing requirements, skill sets and compensation; ensures the timely and effective hiring, onboarding, training, evaluation and management of all installation staff
  • Evaluates employee training programs, identifies constraints, weaknesses in installation staff and procedures and ensures worker training addresses these areas
  • Monthly performance reviews and feedback for lead hands
  • Leads a long term retention strategy for the branch

Operations Management

  • Examines installation & re-measure flow and ensures actions are taken to alleviate “bottle-necks” and non-value added activities in order to relieve capacity problems
  • Investigates missing product or defective product and implements strategies to accommodate revised installation schedules
  • Commitment to loss prevention (people, profit, product) through by high level organization of jobs and materials required for job
  • Routinely reviews installation output with lead hands and set plans and objectives
  • Tours installation sites routinely to monitor; quality, performance, cleanliness and safety
  • Ensures that company rules and procedures regarding behaviour, quality, installations and health and safety are adhered to and if necessary, uses appropriate disciplinary procedures to resolve. Ensure we are always operating within our values (F.E.R.S.T.)

Where will you work?

This position works collaboratively with leadership and management and requires to be in office at our Calgary, AB location.
