We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on accountant to join our growing Finance team in Langley. About the Role

The Staff Accountant – AR & Month-End plays a key role in supporting the Accounting and Finance department with a focus on customer billing, collections, and maintaining accurate A/R records. This position ensures invoices are issued promptly, payments are collected within set timelines, and outstanding balances are closely monitored to support healthy cash flow. You’ll also provide well-rounded accounting support through month-end close, reconciliations, job costing, and variance analysis, contributing to the accuracy and insight of financial reporting.

We’re looking for an experienced accountant who can step in with confidence and deliver accuracy, efficiency, and reliability from day one.

Core Accountabilities:

Accounts Receivable Ownership

• Prepare and issue invoices accurately and on time.
• Reconcile customer accounts, monitor aging, and follow up on overdue balances.
• Record payments, deposits, and adjustments with precision.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing issues quickly and professionally.

Month-End & Financial Support

• Support month-end close through reconciliations, journal entries, and variance reviews.
• Analyze job costing and margins to understand performance on specific projects.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with the Controller and Finance team to ensure accuracy and integrity across systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline reporting, and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or another job-costing environment.
• Strong understanding of AR processes and comfort with high-volume transactions.
• Demonstrated experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and confident working independently.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA program enrollment or designation is an asset.
