Prepare for a Remeasure and Installation

Geek Level 1

Follow these easy steps to make sure your home is ready for that upcoming remeasure and installation!

Preparation is a big help. Are you expecting us to come and perform a remeasure soon in anticipation of your new high-performance windows? Don’t worry! It’s an easy process, but there are a few things you could do to make sure the appointment runs as smoothly as possible. We’ll also look at what to do prior to the installation itself.

Access is key

Ensure the estimator has easy access to all windows and doors that need to be replaced. Clear any sills and remove any blinds and their brackets, and move any furniture that may be blocking the way.

Top Tip: Our estimators will be working inside and outside, so do what you can to clear external areas too.

The estimator will take measurements and then discuss the next steps and what windows and doors are best suited.

Installation Day

Before the team comes to begin the installation, you’ll want to do something similar. Make sure all blinds and their brackets are removed again, and move furniture at least three to four feet away from the window openings. The install team will be using drop sheets, so no need to worry about floors or rugs.

When the installation is complete the lead installer will complete a final inspection. This is the best time to look for any deficiencies as easy fixes can be taken care of immediately. The install team will perform a thorough clean-up, and you’re all set!
