Celebrating Our 2025 Winners: Moira & James

Last year, one of the most moving stories in our contest's history finally had its happy ending. Moira Kelly, a single parent and full-time caregiver to her 40-year-old son James, who lives with Angelman Syndrome, had been nominated three years in a row before being selected in 2025 – proof that persistence pays off.

Moira's home told its own story of hardship: broken window locks replaced with makeshift wooden sticks for security, ice forming on the glass in winter, and windows that could no longer keep out allergens or wildfire smoke – a serious health risk for James, who suffers from severe eye infections. Despite it all, Moira never stopped showing up for her son, finding joy in small moments like car rides and Dairy Queen runs.

Thanks to the nomination of four caring friends, Moira and James received brand new, high-performance Centra windows and doors – bringing warmth, better air quality, real security, and a little more peace to a home that had gone without for far too long.
