Celebrating Our 2024 Winners: The Trottier Family

Last year, we were touched by the heartfelt nomination for Tanya Trottier and her daughters, Amelia and Elizabeth, from Delta, BC. After losing her husband suddenly in 2018 and living with a disability, Tanya faced mounting challenges maintaining her home. A major leak and botched repair job forced her to divert her savings – originally meant for new windows – just to keep the house livable.

The Trottier home, built in 1959, had drafty, rotting, and mismatched windows that let in cold air and moisture. The patio door was so poorly installed that it would often jam, locking them out of their own backyard. Living near a noisy port and under a flight path only added to the discomfort.

In 2024, that all changed. On a rainy day, 24 of our amazing Employee Owners came together and installed a full set of custom-made, energy-efficient Centra windows and new exterior doors – all in just six hours.

Tanya no longer has to wear hats to bed to stay warm, and 3 AM wake-up calls from passing cargo ships are a thing of the past. The gift of high-performance windows brought peace, warmth, and energy savings to a family that truly deserved a fresh start.
